Arrive on Mahé, then explore Seychelles.

Your Seychelles journey begins with knowing which island you will sleep on first. Share your accommodation and any onward flights or boat transfers so we can compare the international arrival with the connections and luggage arrangements that follow.

Indian Ocean · Island stays & onward island connections

Seychelles International (SEZ) is on Mahé, the main island. Praslin and other islands require onward arrangements.

Before you book

Build the trip around your first island

SEZ is your Mahé arrival point. A stay on Praslin or another island needs an additional connection, which should be planned before fixing the international flight. Confirm the operator’s check-in deadline, where you must report and whether a road transfer is needed between the airport and departure point.

Review island baggage and separate bookings

Air Seychelles connects Mahé and Praslin, while other operators serve additional islands. Check the allowance and acceptance rules on your actual onward booking, including cabin-bag dimensions. Ask whether baggage is checked through and what happens after a delayed international arrival; separate tickets may require new check-in arrangements.

Use the official travel-authorisation process

Check Seychelles entry requirements for your nationality and the current travel-authorisation instructions. The FCDO page for British citizen passports links the official application service. Have accommodation details and onward or return travel ready, and allow time to resolve any application query before departure.

Questions and answers

Is SEZ on the same island as my hotel?

Only if your hotel is on Mahé. Check the island name on the booking. Praslin and other islands require separate travel arrangements, so a Seychelles flight alone may not complete the journey.

Should I stay on Mahé before flying home?

Consider it if a separately booked island transfer leaves little flexibility before your international departure. Compare the connection margin, change conditions and the consequences of disruption when deciding the final night’s location.

Can I use public transport after landing?

The airport lists buses, taxis and car rental. Check the route, luggage arrangements and final access to your accommodation before choosing. If continuing by boat, confirm the correct departure point and your collection time.
