A considered start to your Douala trip.
Make the flight fit your Cameroon visit, from the cases you bring to the address where you will stay. Douala and Yaoundé are different arrival choices; tell us which city your plans centre on before comparing UK departure options.

Douala International Airport (DLA) is selected; Yaoundé-Nsimalen (NSI) serves a different city.
Before you book
Confirm current airport taxi arrangements
Aéroports du Cameroun lists numbered airport taxis for the journey into town. The operator has also announced changes to its taxi service, so check the current pickup process before departure. Agree your destination, baggage space and meeting point rather than relying on an old vehicle description.
Check visa arrangements before you fly
FCDO's guidance for British visitors says to arrange the required e-visa before travel; it does not describe Douala as a visa-on-arrival option. Use the official application links, allow time for processing and check health-document requirements for everyone travelling, including children.
Review every onward destination
Read current FCDO advice before adding travel beyond Douala. Restrictions affect parts of Cameroon, including the North-West and South-West regions, with specific advice for Limbé and its access route. Share the full itinerary when requesting flights; an airport choice does not replace that regional check.
Questions and answers
Can I treat Yaoundé as another Douala airport?
No. DLA and NSI serve different cities. If both could work, ask for a comparison that includes the onward journey to your final address. Check airport codes before booking accommodation or arranging someone to meet you.
Will a Cameroon domestic flight include the same baggage?
That depends on its airline and fare. Share the domestic sector and packed bag weights before booking the UK journey. Ask where bags are collected and rechecked, particularly if you are considering separate tickets.
What matters for a late arrival in Douala?
Confirm that your host or transport provider expects the correct local arrival date and can accommodate delays. Save your contact details and meeting instructions offline. Leave space for entry formalities and baggage reclaim when agreeing a pickup.
